Samsung Galaxy S25 FE to Feature ch90_HD

Samsung’s chipset decisions for the Galaxy S25 series have been an alluring topic recently. The rumors are all over the place. Initially, there was talk that due to poor yields of the Exynos 2500, Samsung will skip it entirely for the S25 lineup and stick with Snapdragon chips across the board.

But now the freshly announced MediaTek Dimensity 9400 has entered into the discussion, adding more speculation to the mix.

Rumors on Galaxy S25 Series
This rumor was posted on X by tipster Jukanlosreve. It claims that only the Galaxy S25 FE will get the Dimensity chip, while the rest of the S25 family — the vanilla S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra — will still go with Snapdragon, likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. This would make the S25 FE the first Samsung device to use a MediaTek chip in a high-profile model.

However, the tipster adds that Samsung and MediaTek have had talks about using a Dimensity chip across the entire S25 lineup, but to no avail.

Samsung Galaxy S25 May Use Only Snapdragon Processors Amid Exynos Production Issues
The Galaxy S25 FE could either get the Dimensity 9400, which is MediaTek’s latest powerhouse chip, or Samsung might go for a cheaper and older Dimensity model if they’re looking to cut costs for the FE variant.

Meanwhile, the Exynos 2500 isn’t completely out of the picture. If Samsung can sort out its production issues, there’s a fair chance we’ll see it in next year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, which are expected to launch in the summer. By then, the Exynos 2500 could be ready for prime time, bringing Samsung’s in-house chips back into the fold.
