The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has decided to withdraw funding from schools found involved in submitting fake student enrolment data, according to a report by 24NewsHD on Saturday.
PEF officials stated that 13,000 schools permanently affiliated with the foundation will now be closely monitored, and future funding will be tied directly to the actual number of students enrolled. Moving forward, funds will only be released based on the strength of the student body, verified through attendance records.

The foundation plans to use a digital system to track enrolment data, and schools will be required to submit online records of student admissions. Regular inspections will also be carried out, checking attendance registers, school infrastructure, and facilities provided to students.
In the case of discrepancies in student attendance, exit registers will undergo a thorough examination. The physical condition of school buildings and furniture will also be assessed to ensure compliance with PEF standards.
